Dr. Cheney is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in foot and ankle surgery. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from The Ohio State University, where he also served as team captain of the varsity men’s swim team. Following graduation, Dr. Cheney attended medical school at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and served for a number of years as a phase IV clinical instructor.
Dr. Cheney completed both his internship and orthopedic residency at Doctor’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Following his residency, he completed a foot and ankle fellowship with the Orthopaedic Associates of Michigan in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His practice emphasis includes ankle arthroplasty, heel pain, bunions, hammertoes, fractures, and foot/ankle sport injuries. Dr. Cheney assists the Team Physicians at Ohio University with complex foot and ankle injuries sustained by any of the OU athletes. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Cheney currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, Faculty for the OhioHealth Orthopedic Surgery Residents Program based out of Doctors Hospital, and a Foot & Ankle Clinical Reviewer for Orthopedics, a peer-reviewed journal covering all aspects of adult and pediatric orthopedic surgery and treatment, and Foot and Ankle International.

Dr. Gittins is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine and Arthritis with extensive experience in outpatient joint reconstruction including robotic assisted knee joint replacement and the direct anterior hip replacement. Dr. Gittins received his bachelor’s degree from Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana. He attended medical school at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. Upon completion of his Internship and Orthopedic Residency at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Gittins served an AO/ASIF Trauma Fellowship in Switzerland.
Dr. Gittins currently functions as Clinical Instructor and Staff Physician for the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine Orthopedic Residency Program. Dr. Gittins has served as team physician for USA Track and Field Team, Capital University, Big Walnut High School, and Pickerington North High School. He has also served as event physician for Ohio High School State Championships in various sports. Charity endeavors include serving as an Orthopedic Consultant for Heart to Honduras Medical Mission Group.
Dr. Gittins holds privileges at the Mt. Carmel New Albany Surgical Hospital, St. Ann’s Hospital, and Grant Medical Center. He has served on the board of AOAO. Dr. Gittins interests include robotic assisted joint replacement surgery, arthritis surgery, total joint replacement, ACL reconstruction, arthroscopy, sports medicine and orthopedic surgical outcomes.

Dr. Ryan Palmer is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult hip and knee total joint reconstruction. He received his bachelor’s degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and attended medical school at Ohio University’s Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. Following graduation, Dr. Palmer completed his orthopedic surgery residency through OhioHealth at Doctor’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. His residency included extensive training at Grant Medical Center and Nationwide Children’s Hospital. At the conclusion of his residency, Dr. Palmer traveled to Houston, Texas, where he completed an Adult Reconstruction/Total Joint Arthroplasty Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Palmer’s practice offers a full array of hip and knee replacement procedures, from primary replacement to complex revision. For primary total hip arthroplasty, Dr. Palmer focuses exclusively on the anterior approach. He believes the minimally invasive nature of the anterior approach allows patients a quicker recovery and no restrictions after surgery. For revision hip arthroplasty, he is trained to perform all approaches to the hip to be able to address the problem most effectively.
Dr. Palmer offers a full spectrum of ligament-preserving and substituting total knee replacement techniques, including unicompartmental knee arthroplasty. As a specialist, Dr. Palmer is trained to understand the fine details of knee reconstruction, and prefers manual techniques during knee replacement. However, Dr. Palmer is trained to perform robotic-assisted knee replacements using the Blue Belt NavioTM Surgical System.
In addition, Dr. Palmer performs joint preservation procedures such as hip and knee arthroscopy when patients may not require a joint replacement.

Dr. Stutzman is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in hand and elbow surgery with a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Hand and Elbow Surgery. He has expertise in fractures, peripheral neuropathy (carpal tunnel syndrome), wrist and elbow reconstruction, as well as arthritis, tendon and ligament injuries from fingertip to elbow. Dr. Stutzman received his Bachelor’s Degree from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. He then attended The Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio and was a member of the Sigma Sigma Phi Medical Student Honor Society, where he received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree. He completed both his Internship and Residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Doctor’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Stutzman then completed a Fellowship at the Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery in Louisville, Kentucky where he was a member of the team that performed the second-hand transplant in the United States.
Dr. Stutzman is involved in medical education and research has given numerous presentations on Orthopedic topics and published a number of articles in The American Journal of Orthopedics. He has served on advisory panels for new implants about the wrist and elbow and continues to be involved in the development of new techniques in regards to hand and elbow surgery. Dr. Chen received his Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology from the University of Wisconsin in Madison and attended medical school at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa. He completed his rotating internship with Ohio University at Doctors Hospital Ohio Health Systems in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Chen subsequently served his residency appointment at Doctors Hospital, OhioHealth Systems in Columbus, Ohio as well as skull base training with Midwestern University at the BroMenn Regional Medical Center campus in Bloomington, Illinois and was a visiting fellow in Spine Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Chen has served as chief resident in neurological surgery for two years at BroMenn Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Chen has served on the Credentialing Committee and Institutional Review Board at Mount Carmel Health Systems and serves as the chairman on the Information Technology Committee with OrthoNeuro. Dr. Chen is a member of the Sigma Sigma Phi and is a member of the House of Delegates with the Columbus chapter of the Ohio Osteopathic Association. He has been published in the area of skull base imaging as well as spinal artificial disc technology. He was an invited speaker at the American Skull Base Society, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, and presented on topics of outpatient spinal surgery. Dr. Chen is actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows in his clinical practice. He has also been involved with the development of curriculums for residency training for neurological surgery and actively participates in clinical training with residents and operating staff. Dr. Comisar is a board certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine related injuries. He has a subspecialty certification in Sports Medicine.
Dr. Comisar graduated from Harvard College with honors in economics, where he also participated in football & rugby. He received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. Dr. Comisar completed his Internship & Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago. Dr. Comisar also completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Baylor Sports Medicine Institute in Houston.
While in Houston, Dr. Comisar worked as a team physician with the Houston Astros, Houston Rockets, and the University of Houston. He also has served as a team physician for the Columbus Blue Jackets, Columbus Destroyers arena football team, Ohio University athletics, the Arnold Classic, and Olentangy & Pickerington North High Schools. Dr. Comisar currently serves as team physician for Denison University and Licking Heights High School.
Dr. Comisar served as the President of the Ohio Orthopaedic Institute at Grant Medical Center from 2007-20014 and now serves as the Chairman of the Clinical Guidance Council of the Grant Medical Center Orthopaedic Accountable Clinical Management program since its inception in 2014.

Dr. Cannone received his Bachelor’s Degree from Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio and attended medical school at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, making OUCOM Dean’s List. Professional Baseball Team.
