This lecture will go over the many interventional and non-interventional techniques used by pain management professionals but will also allow for understanding and basic know-how for those not in the specialty. A full formulary of medications will be discussed that involves both opioid and non-opioid medications, as well as useful medical foods/supplements found to be beneficial.
 
Learning Objectives:
  • Understand what the various interventional treatment techniques are and when to order them.
  • Distinguish between non-pharmacological and non-opioid treatments to address acute and chronic pain.
  • Develop knowledge of the different opioid medications, and when and how to use them.
  • Basic Osteopathic techniques for certain pain conditions.

After completing his residency, he served as medical director for his pain management and rehabilitation clinics in New York before moving to the San Diego area, where he served as associate program director for the Long Beach Medical Center before opening his practice in La Jolla

Dr. Kasendorf is committed to expanding his knowledge and skills in the areas of pain management, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and he holds board certifications in both pain medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation from the American Osteopathic Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He has also lectured extensively about the topics of chronic and acute pain management.

In addition to caring for patients at his private practice, Dr. Kasendorf maintains an affiliation with Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.
