Description

This presentation will provide an overview of regenerative injection therapies (RIT), aka orthobiologics, in treating chronic injury, dysfunction, and pain. In addition, we will discuss what RIT is, the historical perspective of where it came from, the theoretical basis of how it is performed (and how it ties into Osteopathic Principles & Practice), review the current and evolving evidence, and finally overview the anecdotal clinical experiences from my practice.

Upon completion of this presentation, participants will be able to:

The Texas Osteopathic Medical Association (TOMA) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. Dr. Daniel Clearfield is a Board-Certified physician in Primary Care Sports Medicine as well as Family Medicine & Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. He has the ability to treat all varieties of athletic, overuse, and degenerative (wear and tear) injuries and conditions in all ages of patients and athletes. Dr. Clearfield has extensive training in diagnostic musculoskeletal/sports ultrasound (MSK-US) and ultrasound-guided injections, regenerative injection therapies (including stem cell, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and prolotherapy), percutaneous needle tenotomy (PNT), nerve blocks and hydrodissection, casting/splinting and fracture management, joint and soft tissue injections and aspirations, concussion management utilizing ImPACT, XLNT Brain and SCAT testing modalities, ECG interpretation in athletes, osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM), auricular hematoma management, ingrown toenail, and fingernail removal, and other procedures germane to outpatient sports medicine. Dr. Clearfield has experience working with all ages and levels of athletes including NCAA Divisions I, II & III, Olympian, NFL, NHL, USA Wrestling, USA Judo, USA Volleyball, US Amateur Boxing, MMA, and WWE.  Additionally, he serves as an official team physician for USA Wrestling and USA Judo. Dr. Clearfield has been awarded numerous accolades in the field of Sports Medicine and has been recognized as a DFW Top Doctor in Sports Medicine consistently since 2013. He is a nationally and internationally recognized speaker in the field of sports medicine and he has covered sporting events all over the world.
