First presented as part of the WVOMA 2022 CME conference, we are pleased to offer this on-demand program as Dr. Jessica McColley discusses Trans medicine in the primary care setting.

Following completion of this program, attendees shall be able to:

  1. Understand the unique healthcare needs and disparities faced by transgender and gender diverse individuals, including barriers to accessing competent and affirming care, in order to provide culturally competent and inclusive primary care services.
  2. Identify best practices for the delivery of gender-affirming care in the primary care setting, including hormone therapy initiation and management, preventive screenings, mental health support, and referral to specialized services, to improve health outcomes and quality of life for transgender and gender diverse patients.
  3. Develop proficiency in providing gender-affirming care through effective communication, patient-centered decision-making, and collaboration with interdisciplinary care teams, to create a welcoming and supportive healthcare environment that respects and affirms each patient's gender identity and expression.
