First presented as part of the WVOMA 2022 CME conference, we are pleased to offer this on-demand program as Dr.   Matthew Fratczak, DO discusses diabetes .

Following completion of this program, attendees shall be able to:

  1. Examine current evidence and emerging research on the reversibility of type 2 diabetes mellitus through lifestyle modifications, weight management, and pharmacological interventions, in order to understand the potential for remission and reversal of the disease.
  2. Evaluate the role of intensive lifestyle interventions, including dietary changes, physical activity, and behavioral modifications, as well as bariatric surgery and novel pharmacotherapies, in achieving glycemic control, reducing insulin resistance, and promoting diabetes remission or reversal.
  3. Develop personalized treatment plans for patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, incorporating multidisciplinary approaches, patient education, and shared decision-making, to optimize glycemic control, improve metabolic health, and potentially reverse or mitigate the progression of the disease.

 

The WEST VIRGINIA OSTEOPATHIC MEDICAL ASSOCIATION is accredited by the AOA to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.  WVOMA designates this program for a maximum of 1 AOA Category 1-A credits and reports CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.
