Learning Objectives:

  • Improve the safety and effectiveness of ultrasound-guided CV access procedures.
  • Reduce the risk of complications associated with CV access, such as pneumothorax or arterial puncture.
  • Promote the consistent and proper use of the BLUE protocol for optimal procedural outcomes.

Dr. (Maj) Ryan Anderson, DO is an emergency medicine physician in Biloxi, MS. He is a Major in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Keesler Air Force Base where he serves as flight commander and lead physician of the emergency department.  He also works part time at Singing River Gulfport and Highland Community Hospital to help serve the local community. He was recently named Director of Ultrasound at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine and has developed a revolutionary ultrasound credentialing platform for all graduating medical students.  He is also Founder and CEO of Conquering The Boards which offers personalized study schedules for medical students to help them successfully navigate studying for their licensing exams while still balancing their core curriculum.  He is a local resident of Biloxi, MS, is happily married to his wife, Alli, who is an ER nurse, and has three children - Arya, Adam, and Ella.
