Learning Objectives:

  1. Discuss presentation of neuroimmunologic diseases
  2. Review differential diagnosis and workup
  3. Review acute and chronic treatment for multiple sclerosis
  4. Discuss symptomatic management
  5. Review health and wellness recommendations in multiple sclerosis
  6. Discuss COVID-19 and neuroimmunology.

The program was planned, implemented and accredited by the Kansas Association of Osteopathic Medicine (KAOM).

The Kansas Association of Osteopathic Medicine is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians and designates this program for a maximum of 1.0 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.

Amanda J. Thuringer, DO, ABPN
Dr. Thuringer received her medical degree from the Des Moines University and completed her neurology residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine where she served as chief resident. She also completed a two-year neuroimmunology fellowship at KUMC. During the first year of her fellowship she also earned the prestigious National Multiple Sclerosis Society clinical fellowship that included additional training. She is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a member of the American Academy of Neurology. She currently serves as assistant professor, Neuroimmunology at the University of Kansas Health System and as a neurologist at the Kansas City VA Medical Center. We are pleased to have her presenting an Update in Neuroimmunology.
