Originally presented at the Wisconsin Association of Osteopathic Physicians & Surgeons (WAOPS) Spring 2025 Conference, this on-demand CME program features Adrienne Kania, DO, as she offers expert insights into why osteopathic physicians should do OMT. Learning Objectives:
Following completion of the program, attendees shall be able to:
-Describe the relationship between circulatory and reticular systems;
-Describe the relationship between suboccipital decompression and the autonomic nervous system;
-Describe the relationship between vagal nerve stimulation/suboccipital decompression and inflammation.

Adrienne Kania, DO, FAAO, received her DO degree from Michigan State University, in 1987, and completed a rotating internship and Internal Medicine residency at Garden City Osteopathic Hospital in Garden City, MI. Practicing office-based internal medicine in Colorado Springs ensued for 25 years. Teaching was first at the Family Practice residency with the Colorado Springs Osteopathic Foundation, then at Rocky Vista University in Parker, CO, and currently at Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine in Las Cruces, NM. She teaches osteopathic manipulative medicine and is active in multiple research projects using OMT as an intervention.
