Alex Golden, OMS-II


Alex Golden is an OMS-II at UIW-SOM and serves as the current SGA Executive President. He is originally from New Jersey, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Rutgers University with a double minor in biology and dance. He moved to Texas in 2016 and received his master’s degree in biomedical science from Texas A&M University in 2019. During his gap year between bachelor's and master's degrees, he worked at Baylor Scott & White as an orthopedic surgery and pediatric scribe.  

At UIW-SOM, he likes to stay active. Currently, he serves as the Secretary for Pride in Practice, a Learner Ambassador, and a member of Healing the Children, Running & Wellness Club, and UIW-SOM’s Women's Health Organization. He also founded the Jewish Students Association and is currently a congregant at Temple Beth-El in downtown San Antonio, TX. Student Doctor Golden is a former competitive gymnast and enjoys musical theatre as well. He is interested in pursuing an OBGYN residency after graduation, particularly in an urban area of the northeastern USA.
