Amanda Edwards, MMS, PA-C


Amanda Edwards, MMS, PA-C completed her undergraduate education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel-Hill and graduate education at Wake Forest University Physician Assistant Program.  

She is a practicing physician assistant since 2007, working clinically with WakeMed Pulmonary & Critical Care for the past eight years.  During her time at WakeMed she excelled in creating curriculums, maximizing utilization of advanced practice providers (APPs) into critical care medicine, advocating for simulation medicine and procedural competencies for APPs, and creating a system-wide Critical Care Conference to advance annual best practices.  In 2020 she accepted an Administrative APP Director role with WakeMed Physician Practices providing quality and operational management.  She has been integral in WakeMed’s COVID-19 response regarding safe PPE practices and critical resource management.  Most recently she led the COVID-19 Vaccine Roll-out to WakeMed Employees, community healthcare workers and patients.
