Amber R Comer, PhD, JD, PhD, JD


Dr. Comer is a professor and scientific researcher at Indiana University School of Health and Human Sciences in the Department of Health Sciences in Indianapolis. She earned a J.D. and Ph.D. from Indiana University in Bloomington.  Additionally, she completed a medical ethics fellowship at Indiana University Health Fairbanks Center for Medical Ethics. Dr. Comer’s research focuses on acute stroke treatment, end-of-life care, and medical ethics. Dr. Comer uses her research to promote scientific, evidence-based health laws and policies.  In addition to her appointment in health and human sciences, Dr. Comer is an adjunct professor of family medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine and an adjunct professor of law at Indiana University McKinney School of Law.  Furthermore, she is an affiliate research scientist at Regenstrief Institute in Health Services Research, a translational scholar at the IUPUI Center for Translating Research into Practice, and a member of the Eskenazi Health Medical Ethics Committee.
