Anita Showalter, DO, MA, FACOOG (Dist)


Anita Showalter, DO, FACOOG (Dist) serves as the Associate Dean for Clinical Education and Associate Professor and Chief for Women's Health at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Yakima, Washington.   

A graduate of Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, she completed OB/GYN residency at Cuyahoga Falls Community Hospital, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.  She was named a Distinguished Fellow by the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOOG) and has served on the Board of Trustees, numerous committees and currently serves on the Ad Hoc Task Force for Curriculum in OMM.  

She has been named ACOOG Mentor of the Year and Outstanding Osteopathic Mentor by Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. She serves on the Board of Directors of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, Board of Trustees of the Yakima County Medical Society, and Washington Osteopathic Medical Association CME Committee.   Additionally, she is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (AOBOG).  It is her passion to teach sensitive care and proficient use of osteopathic principles in women's health.
