Annie Derthick, PhD


Annie Derthick, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist and the Director of Behavioral Science as well as the Academic Director at the Central Maine Family Medicine Residency. She works closely with residents and faculty there to increase engagement in scholarly activity and promote the creative and innovative approaches to patient care and education occurring in the program. Dr. Derthick recently completed a fellowship in medical editing and currently serves on the Editorial Board for the peer-reviewed journal, Family Medicine. Her mission is to shift the narrative about what constitutes scholarly activity—it is not just randomized control trials, but it includes a multitude of ways we generate, share, expand, and revisit what we know. Dr. Derthick’s personal research interests including health disparities, microaggressions, quality improvement, and integrated behavioral health care.  Dr. Derthick has no disclosures.
