Bob Macdonald, Executive Director, PDMP Foundation


Bob MacDonald has served as the Executive Director of The Florida PDMP Foundation since December 2013. He was formerly on the executive staff of the Florida Dental Association for over 20 years where he served in many capacities as a department director of dental care and health, education and licensure, communications, membership, association affairs and dental care programs. He was also the Director of Administration and Development of the Florida Dental Health Foundation, the association’s charitable organization. Mr. Macdonald received a master’s degree in Health Planning and Policy from the University of Cincinnati. His undergraduate degree in secondary education was obtained at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In his role as chief operating and development officer of the PDMP Foundation, Mr. Macdonald has been heavily involved in working with the State Surgeon General’s office to seek appointment approval of key individuals to increase the size of the board of directors to 11-members. In doing so, the board now consists of a diverse cross-section of representation with individuals with health care, law enforcement, corporate, legal and academic backgrounds. As executive director Mr. Macdonald manages the daily operations of the foundation andcoordinates all projects and programs with the staff of the Department of Health (E-FORCSE) for which the foundation provides supplemental funding as a Direct Support Organization. He works closely with the board and several committees in strategic planning, budget development, financial management, program coordination, communications, grants administration and fundraising. In addition to his position with the foundation, Mr. Macdonald has held several elected and appointed offices in other professional organizations. Most recently, he was a trustee on the board of the Florida Society of Association Executives Foundation. He has also served as treasurer of the Tallahassee Society of Association Executives, treasurer of the Big Bend Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Executives, president, American Society of Dental Foundation Executives, president, Florida Foundation for School Health and a member of the University of Tennessee National Alumni Association Board of Governors. For recreation, he and spouse Susan like to bike, kayak, swim, spend time at the Florida Keys and NC mountains. He also spends time playing pickleball and has medaled in his age group in several tournaments.
