Brian M. Shafer, MD
Brian M. Shafer, MD, “Ophthalmic Manifestations of Systemic Disease,” is a cataract, refractive, cornea, and glaucoma surgeon at Chester County Eye Care in Malvern, Pennsylvania and an adjunct assistant professor of ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Dr. Shafer is a graduate of the University of Rochester in New York and a 2016 graduate of Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed an internship at Pennsylvania Hospital, an ophthalmology residency at the Scheie Eye Institute in Philadelphia, and a cornea, refractive, glaucoma and anterior segment surgery fellowship at Vance Thompson Vision in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Dr. Shafer is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the International Society of Refractive Surgery, the Refractive Surgery Alliance, the Cornea Society, the American Glaucoma Society and the American-European Congress of Ophthalmic Surgery. Dr. Brian Shafer, faculty for this educational event, is on the speaker’s bureau for Allergan and serves as a consultant for Alcon and Allergan.
