Chris Fontenot, DO
Dr. Chris Fontenot was born in Opelousas, Louisiana and received his BS in Chemistry from University of Louisiana-Lafayette. Chris was recruited to attend the William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg, Mississippi where he earned his DO degree. He had always intended to move back to Louisiana to practice medicine, so the LSU Family Medicine Residency in Lafayette was his landing spot for residency. Since residency, he has worked as a Hospitalist, done ER moonlighting, and has worked in Hospice. His love for teaching finally led him to accept a teaching position in Lafayette at the residency program he attended years ago. He and his wonderful wife have four children so most of his free time is spent with his family, but he does still sneak away on occasion for a hunting or fishing trip.
