Craig Spellman
Craig W. Spellman, DO, PhD, FACOI, “Standards for Management of Type 2 Diabetes: It’s the Basics that Count,” is director of the MCH Diabetes Center and a professor of internal medicine at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Odessa, Texas. Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Spellman is a graduate of the University of Washington in Seattle and earned his master’s degree from Montana State University in Bozeman, and his PhD at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. He was an NIH post-doctoral fellow in pathology at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Dr. Spellman is also a 1991 graduate of the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, and completed an internal medicine residency at the Osteopathic Medical Center of Texas. A fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Internists, he is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, the American Society of Investigative Pathology and the American Diabetes Association. He has provided no disclosures.
