Deqa Dhalac, MSW
Deqa Dhalac, MSW, MDP is originally from Somalia. Ms. Dhalac is a co-founder and Chief Executive Officer for Cross Cultural Community Services. She works as the Family Engagement and Cultural Responsiveness Specialist for the Maine Department of Education. Before, that, she also worked for the City of Portland Refugee Services Program and the Public Health Division’s Minority Health Program. Ms. Dhalac has a master’s degree in Development Policy and Practice from the University of New Hampshire and a master’s in social work from the UNE. Ms. Dhalac is the treasurer for the Somali Community Center of Maine and serves on the South Portland City Council.
