Ernst Lamothe Jr, AOA Public Relations and Social Media Director


A seasoned journalist and public relations and social media expert, Ernst Lamothe Jr. has worked in the communication industry for more than two decades. He leads media relations and digital social media outreach strategy for the American Osteopathic Association, working to increase national visibility of DOs and osteopathic medicine. In addition, he serves as primary media relations counsel for major AOA initiatives, working directly with leadership on messaging and process for outreach. He is responsible for helping grow and maintain the organization’s brand by identifying media opportunities to promote public awareness of the osteopathic medical
profession. Previously, he covered health care, business, government and schools in New York and Illinois for several newspaper publications. After journalism, he transitioned into the public relations and marketing field working for Advocate Health Care--now Advocate Aurora Health--
which was the largest health system in Illinois. Lamothe Jr. also led communication initiatives at Thornton Township, the largest township in Illinois; handling their public relations, marketing, social media, newsletter, crisis communication, photography and event planning. In addition, he
has been contracted for specific projects to create media opportunities for Illinois-based colleges and businesses in Chicago and New York. Lamothe has been the keynote speaker at various events discussing public relations, marketing and journalism strategies.
