James A. Underberg, MD


James A. Underberg, MD, FACPM, FACP, FNLA, “Update on Lipid Disorder,” is director of the Bellevue Hospital Lipid Clinic in New York, New York and a clinical assistant professor of medicine at New York University (NYU) School of Medicine and the NYU Center for Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease. Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Underberg is a graduate of Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, and a 1989 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He completed an internship and internal medicine residency at NYU Medical Center. President-elect of the National Lipid Association (NLA) and treasurer of the American Board of Clinical Lipidology, he is the founder and president of the New York Preventive Cardiovascular Society and a fellow of the American College of Preventive Medicine, American College of Physicians and the NLA.
