Jay Butterman, DO


Jay Butterman, DO was born and raised in New York.  He graduated from SUNY Binghamtom with a B.S. in Biochemistry.  Dr. Butterman attended the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and subsequently did a flexible Internship and a Psychiatry Residency at the Wilford Hall USAF Military Center.  After leaving the military, he joined the University of North Texas Health Science Center as Director of the Psychiatric Residency Training Program and Psychiatric Research.  Dr. Butterman ultimately left there to go into the Private Practice of Psychiatry.  He became engaged with Managed Care and ultimately became the Chief Medical Officer for Behavioral Health for Centene (insuring 26+ million people) with a philosophy of collaborative approaches to help to assure best practices are provided to our Members.  He never gave up his private practice and is currently practicing Telemedicine.  He lives in North Texas with his wife and youngest daughter (who has had some early successes in her pursuit of an entertainment career), two dogs, and two cats.  His youngest son is attending UF in Gainesville and his other 2 children and two grandchildren live in Florida.
