Jonah Flowers, DO


Dr. Jonah Flowers is a Louisiana native from Winnfield, LA.  She is currently the Associate Chair for Family Medicine in Rural and Underserved Areas at VCOM-Louisiana.  She earned her BS in Physics from Grambling State University and her medical degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, VA in 2008.  She then completed a one-year osteopathic rotating internship at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg, VA and a residency in Family Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University/Bon Secours St. Francis Family Medicine Residency in Midlothian, VA.  She is board certified in Family Medicine and certified in American Sign Language.  Dr. Flowers worked as a Family Medicine physician in Norfolk, VA where she provided service to all age groups and Deaf patients.  She also has taught 3rd year medical students while serving as Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine for Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Flowers has completed international mission trips to Cape Town South Africa, Kenya, and El Salvador. Her professional memberships include the ACOFP, AOA, AAFP, LAFP, and LOMA. She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and the Order of Easter Star. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, skating, running, reading, and traveling.
