Julia Yates, LCSW
Julia Yates is an experienced psychotherapist and teaching faculty with the University of Wisconsin Madison Department of Family Medicine and Community Health (DFMCH). She completed her graduate training at the University of Wisconsin Madison, and her professional interests include integrated behavioral health in primary care, a Whole Health approach to patient care, mindfulness practices in resiliency development, and experiential learning models in teaching and public speaking. Julia is particularly fond of improvisation training which allows her to combine two of her passions, relationship centered communication and theater. Julia is the Director of Behavioral Health for the DFMCH’s Family Medicine Residency Program and the current Director of Wellness and Wellbeing for the DFMCH.
When not working, you’ll find Julia traveling, reading, hiking, at a concert, and occasionally on stage in a community theatre production.
