Larry Anderson, DO


Larry W. Anderson, DO, FACOFP dist. is in private practice in Dawsonville, Georgia. Additionally, he is an associate professor of clinical medicine at the George Campus – Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Medical Director of the Good Shepherd Clinic in Dawsonville.

 

Dr. Anderson also serves as Chair of the County Board of Health in Dawson County.

 

He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from West Georgia College and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed his Doctor of Osteopathy degree at University Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Anderson served his internship at Northlake Regional Medical Center in Tucker, Georgia.

 

Dr. Anderson is board certified in osteopathic family medicine and was a reviewer for both the George Composite State Board of Medical Examiners and the Georgia Medical Care Foundation.

 

Active in his professional associations at both the state and national levels, Dr. Anderson held the office of President for both the Georgia Society of the ACOFP and the Georgia Osteopathic Medical Association. He also served as a delegate to the ACOFP Congress of Delegates from the Georgia Society of ACOFP.

 

Prior to joining the ACOFP Board of Governors, Dr. Anderson served on the Ethics, Membership, Practice Management, Preceptor, Marketing and the Constitution & Bylaws Committees and on the Executive Council of the Conclave of Fellows.  He was designated a Fellow of ACOFP in 1983 and was named a Distinguished Fellow in 2004.
