Marcus Wheeler, MD
Pediatric neurologist Marcus Wheeler, MD, joined Kalispell Regional Healthcare in August 2013. Dr. Wheeler practices at Montana Children’s Specialists, a department of Kalispell Regional Medical Center. He is also part of Montana Children’s and its team of more than 40 pediatric specialists. Dr. Wheeler treats a broad range of neurological conditions in children but has a special interest in epilepsy.
The native of upstate New York earned his undergraduate degree in psychology and biochemistry from Syracuse University, then his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire, where he decided to pursue training in the field of pediatric neurology. To gain a depth of training beyond the norm, he first carried out a two-year pediatric residency at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and then another three-year pediatric neurology residency at the University of Colorado in Denver.
He received the highest academic scholarship and graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse, and further developed his expertise through research, curriculum development, and educational presentations. Dr. Wheeler is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Wheeler is a lifelong soccer player, a skier and winter sports enthusiast, an actor in theatrical and film productions, an avid reader and cook, and is proficient in German.
