Matt Daggett, DO


Dr. Matt Daggett founded Sano Orthopedics (formerly Advanced Orthopedics & Sports Medicine) with a mission to improve musculoskeletal health. This pursuit drives his technique innovation, which he validates through research and outcomes. Dr. Matt Daggett was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. After graduating from the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri, he received his medical degree from Kansas City University – College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCU-COM), Kansas City, Missouri. He completed his Master of Business Administration degree in Healthcare Leadership from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri.

Dr. Daggett completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery in 2013 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Blue Springs, Missouri. Following residency, Dr. Daggett knew he wanted to become a sports medicine physician, so he obtained two fellowships. In 2014 he completed fellowships in Sports Medicine at the American Sports Medicine Institute with Dr. Lemak in Birmingham, Alabama, and Shoulder Arthroscopy and Reconstruction with Dr. Gilles Walch and Dr. Lionel Neyton at Centre Orthopedic Santy-Lyon, Lyon, France. Dr. Daggett is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

He is an active researcher in his orthopedic field and an expert in injury prevention, knee ligament injuries, sports medicine, and shoulder rotator cuff repair and treatment. He is the only American member of the International SANTI research group on sports medicine injuries. He is an Associate Clinical Professor at Kansas City University – College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCU-COM) in Kansas City, Missouri. He also serves on the Sports Medicine Advisory Committee of the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA). He has over 60 published articles as well as global visits from surgeons who shadow and collaborate with him. He has established himself as a trusted surgeon with a drive for better outcomes. He is leading the way with new techniques, like Needle Arthroscopy. He is known for taking the time to listen to his patients, understand their fears and concerns, and then pursue the best possible outcomes.

When not at work, Dr. Daggett is busy at home with the four young children that he and his wife Laura are raising in Leawood, Kansas.
