Pat D. Schmitter, CPC
With more than 40 years of experience, Ms. Schmitter has a strong background in government payer regulations. He has been with Visionary Health Group (VHG) a division of VEI and Community Health Network since 2004. Previously she held consulting positions with Newby Consulting and Patern Medical Services. Ms. Schmitter provides billing, coding, and compliance consulting services to clients. She is responsible for various audits, education on the principles of CPT and ICD10CM coding, government regulations, and solving problems related to regulation and payers. She provides education in the Professional Medical Coding Curriculum (PMCC) for students who are preparing to take the CPC examination. She also coordinates and oversees enrollment for billing privilege and credentialing with managed care organizations and government entities. Ms. Schmitter represents physicians and their practices on local government and third-party payer committees exposing VHG to cutting edge information and communicating physician concerns. She currently is involved in the CMS Provider Outreach Educational Advisory Group (POE-AG) for Part A, Part B, and DMERC, as well as past member of the CMS Region V Beneficiary Advisory Committee (BAC) and past member of Anthem/WellPoint Participating Provider Advisory Committee (PPAC). She is a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) accredited by the AAPC, Certified Instructor of the Professional Medical Coding Curriculum (CPC-I), AAPC Approved ICD-10-CM Trainer and an approved AHIMA ICD-10- CM Instructor and Ambassador. Ms. Schmitter also serves on the Compliance Committee for Community Health Network.
