Patrick Boyle, MD


Patrick Boyle, M.D. currently serves as Professor of Physician Assistant Studies at Pacific University in Hillsboro, Oregon where he heads up Pharmacology and Endocrinology education.  Dr. Boyle obtained his Bachelor of Science from the University of Oregon, his Doctor of Medicine from OHSU, and then completed his residency (and Chief Residency) in Internal Medicine at OHSU.   After finishing a three year fellowship in Endocrinology at Washington University in St. Louis, he served 22 years as a Professor of Medicine at the University of New Mexico where he was funded by the National Institutes of Health and served eight years as the Program Director of the NIH funded General Clinical Research Center.  During these years, he served as a principle investigator for the landmark Diabetes Control and Complications Trial, and the Diabetes Prevention Program.  After returning to Oregon in 2011, he provided Endocrine consultation for five years in Depoe Bay with Samaritan Health System.
