Pete Wertheim, MS is the Executive Director of the Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association (AOMA). Mr. Wertheim has an extensive background in public health policy and healthcare advocacy. His experience includes serving as a state legislative research analyst and policy advisor on health, welfare, and budget issues; working in both the private and public sectors as an advocate for healthcare; and tenure as a senior lobbyist for the Arizona Department of Health Services. A past president of the Arizona Public Health Association (AzPHA), Mr. Wertheim has received numerous awards acknowledging his contributions as an healthcare advocate including the 2008 Advocate of the Year from the Arizona Council of Human Service Providers, the 2012 American College of Physicians – Arizona Chapter Advocacy Award; and the 2013 Senator Andy Nichols Award from the AzPHA for Outstanding Contributions to Public Health.
