Roopa Sethi, MD


Dr. Roopa Sethi is board certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Program Director for the Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship Program at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas. Dr. Sethi is the Medical Director for the Opioid Treatment Program and the Director of Suboxone Services for the University of Kansas Health System. She completed her fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Sethi earned her medical degree from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India. She completed her residency at Carilion Clinic at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, Roanoke, Virginia.

Previously she worked as the director of addiction psychiatry at Southwest Network, Phoenix, Arizona. She is currently involved with the State Targeted Response (STR) grant sub awarded to her from the state of Missouri for treating opioid addiction through the University of Kansas Health System. She is also involved with the STR grant from the state of Kansas for treating opioid addictions recently awarded to the addictions clinic. Dr. Sethi specializes in MAT (methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone) but treats other drug and alcohol use disorders. She is trained in auricular acupuncture for drug-use disorders.
