Scott Gelfand, PhD, JD


Scott Gelfand, PhD, JD, is a tenured professor and Head of the Department of Philosophy at Oklahoma State University. He received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Maryland and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. His research is focused primarily on issues in biomedical ethics and research ethics. Most recently he has written several papers discussing two ethical problems associated with the physician-patient relationship: The Problem of Nudging and Informed Consent and The Problem of the Nocebo Effect.
