Stephen Johnson, DO graduated from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in 1985. He performed a General rotating internship at Normandy Osteopathic Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He then went on to do an Internal Medicine Residency at Kenady Memorial Hospital in Stratford, New Jersey. Dr. Johnson also completed a Gastroenterology fellowship at Kennedy Memorial Hospital . Dr. Johnson is Board Ceritified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the AOBIM. After completeing his training, he began practicing Gastroenterology in Laurel, MS, in the summer of 1992. He performed all endoscopic procedures including EGD, Colonoscopy and ERCP. He has been active in the South Mississippi Medical Association. He was South Mississippi medical president in 2007. Doctor Johnson has been active in the Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association throughout his career. He served in many capacities while a member of MoMA, including president MOMA from 2011 through 2013 and he has continued to be active in MOMA. Doctor Johnson was elected to be a fellow of the American College of osteopathic internal medicine in 2009. Doctor Johnson retired from clinic practice after 30 years in 2022. Doctor Johnson is married to his wife Rhonda and has four adult children and eight grandchildren. He continues to live in Laurel Ms.
