Stephen Johnson, D.O. graduated from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in 1985. He performed a General rotating Internship at Normandy Osteopathic Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He then went on to do an Internal Medicine Residency at Kenady Memorial Hospital in Stratford, New Jersey. Dr. Johnson also completed a Gastroenterology fellowship at Kenady Memorial Hospital. Dr. Johnson is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the AOBIM. After completing his training, he began practicing Gastroenterology in Laurel, MS in the summer of 1992.  He performed all endoscopic procedures including EGD, Colonoscopy and ERCP. He has been active in the South Mississippi Medical Association. He was South Mississippi medical president in 2007. Dr. Johnson has been active in the Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association throughout his career. He served in many capacities while a member of MOMA, including President of MOMA 2011-2013, and has continued being active in MOMA. Dr. Johnson was elected to be a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Internal Medicine in 2009. Dr. Johnson retired from clinical practice after 30 years in 2022. Dr. Johnson is married to his wife Rhonda and has four adult children and 8 grandchildren. He continues to live in Laurel, MS.
