Suzanne Frederick, MSN, BSN
Suzanne serves as the Executive Director of the Idaho Osteopathic Physicians Association and the Kentucky Osteopathic Medical Association. She is the immediate Past President of the Association of Osteopathic State Executive Directors. She also served as the Interim Assistant Dean of External Affairs – Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine during the start up phase of Idaho’s first medical school.
Suzanne has worked in Healthcare since 1979. With a longtime interest in rural health, she has worked as a nurse, hospital administrator, started 2 Hospital Foundations and was a member of senior administrative staff for Catholic Health Initiatives - US. Interest in rural health has been not only in Idaho and Kentucky , but there has been global public health interest as well. Earning her Global Public Health Fellow status, Suzanne served as the US liaison to Africa Health in Johannesburg, South Africa for 5 years. In this positon, she visited hospitals and health facilities in rural (and sometimes remote) areas of South Africa, identifying needs and assessments. Grant funds were secured and physicians were recruited from the US, Canada, and the UK to work in rural South Africa for one year paid contracts. Suzanne has participated as a presenter in the Yale University “Sight for Life” Global Health project, interacting with representatives from South Africa, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Canada, Australia and the UK.
