Thomas DeGregory, DO


Thomas R. DeGregory, DO, CMD, is a member of the education committee for the POMA District VIII 37th Annual Educational Winter Seminar. Board certified in family medicine and hospice and palliative medicine, he is a certified geriatric medical director and a certified hospice and palliative care medical director. Currently, he is the medical director for multiple skilled care facilities, and the medical director for Promedica Hospice and Promedica Palliative Care (formerly Heartland) for all of southwestern Pennsylvania. Prior to his work in skilled nursing facilities and hospice and palliative medicine, he was a hospital-based physician (and the first DO) at Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. A graduate of St. Vincent’s College in Latrobe and a 1973 graduate of Des Moines (Iowa) University — Osteopathic Medical Center College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery, Dr. DeGregory completed his postgraduate training at Memorial Hospital in York, Pennsylvania. A former trustee of POMA District VIII, he is a member of POMA, the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Family Physicians Society, the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, the American Medical Directors Association, the Pennsylvania Medical Directors Association and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
