Whitley Nelson, OMS
Whitley Nelson was born and raised in Lebanon, Oregon. She graduated from Oregon State University and is now a medical student at Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific-Northwest (COMP-NW). Growing up in a rural area she has a passion for working with underserved populations and patient advocacy. She plans to use her experiences to engage in research with healthcare policy and advocacy that supports patient care. Whitley has been selected for the Primary Care Loan Forgiveness Program and looks forward to returning to Oregon and serving a rural community after residency. Her academic interests include sustainable humanitarian relief efforts in rural and global health, lifestyle medicine, and general surgery. When she is not studying, Whitley enjoys being outdoors and hiking with her husband and their two dogs and tending to her garden.
