Arthrogenic inhibition creates very predictable muscular patterns of compensation with injuries or chronic conditions. We will be talking about and demonstrating these patterns in major joints, and how to start the process of evaluation, workup, and management of these presentations.

We will review the common exams to determine joint pathology, and from there discuss ways to differentiate conservative versus more aggressive management.

Upon completion of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize with physical exams how compensation patterns can present
  2. Use functional tools and assessments to determine the course of management
  3. Have a better understanding of when imaging, physical therapy, or other interventions are necessary.
