Objectives:
1. Identify the risk factors from environmental exposures on cardiac disease.
2. Examine policies influenced by latest research.
3. Determine the impact of environmental exposures of toxins, including air pollution and e-cigarette vapor, on the heart
and other organ systems.
The Maine Osteopathic Association is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. The Maine Osteopathic Association designates this program for a maximum of 1.0 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.

Dr. Loren Wold is a Professor in the College of Medicine at the Ohio State University, as well as Associate Dean for Research Operations and Compliance. Dr. Wold’s lab has been funded by several grants from the National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the American Heart Association and the Veterans Administration to study the role of the environment on cardiovascular disease throughout the lifespan. Dr. Wold is also Editor-in-Chief of the Elsevier journal Life Sciences.
