Research has shown that positive attitudes about aging can result in longer and healthier lives, while ageist attitudes are damaging. Getting appropriate quality care that is free of bias is an important part of maintaining good health long into later life. Healthcare providers are in a unique position to influence people both to promote age positivity and to reduce the negative impacts of ageism. This presentation will detail what it will take to shift the narrative about the value and diversity of older people, to grow age-positivity, and to implement ageism disrupters at the practice level.
