Objectives– Following this lecture participants will be able to:

1. Review of recent literature regarding body composition and commonly prescribed weight loss
medications
2. Greater awareness of body composition measurement for medical practice
3. Increased awareness of VO2 Max and Resting Metabolic Rate testing
 

This session is accredited for a maximum of  .75 AOA Category 1-A credits. Credits commensurate with participation in the session will be awarded.

Dr. Cardella completed medical school and family medicine residency in Stratford, New Jersey at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine. She is board certified in Family Medicine. She has practiced outpatient primary care in three states: New Jersey, Maryland and for the past two years, Maine. Prior to attending medical school, she served 5 years of active duty in the United States Army as an Air Defense Artillery Officer for the first 2 years, then Signals Intelligence for three years with the National Security Agency. She deployed to Afghanistan in 2006. Following active duty, she spent 8 years in the Mississippi and New Jersey National Guard while prepping for and attending medical school.

Dr. Cardella has special interest in Lifestyle, Culinary and Obesity Medicine. She is currently completing the requirements for board certification in all three. These passions led to the creation of her micro medical practice which opened in Topsham in May 2024.
