Amanda Taisey
Amanda Taisey is the Health Systems Engagement Coordinator for the Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence. Amanda started her career as a shelter advocate for Through TheseDoors in 2003 while finishing her bachelor’s degree in Criminology at the University of Southern Maine in Portland.
After graduating and working for the State of Maine leading legislative and educational efforts to address substance use during pregnancy, Amanda came back to Through These Doors and spent four years as the Incarcerated Women’s Advocate supporting survivors of domestic abuse in both Maine Correctional Center in Windham and Cumberland County Jail in Portland.
Prior to joining MCEDV in June 2022, Amanda worked at MaineHealth Center for Tobacco Independence for five years. As the Health Systems Engagement Coordinator, Amanda is tasked with the development and effective implementation of MCEDV’s programming related to health care systems as critical components of a coordinated community response to domestic and dating abuse and violence, sex trafficking, child abuse, and elder abuse.
