  • Counsel patients about lifestyle and pharmacotherapy options to manage HTN.
  • Summarize secondary causes of HTN, and when HTN should be managed by a specialist.

Julia Jenkins, MD, FAAFP, DipABLM Dr. Julia Jenkins is an Associate Program Director for the USF-Morton Plant Mease Family Medicine Residency program in Clearwater and serves as an Associate Professor at the USF-Morsani College of Medicine. She is affiliated with the BayCare Health System.

Dr. Jenkins earned her medical degree from the University of South Florida and completed her residency in Family Medicine at Bayfront Medical Center. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and holds Diplomate status with the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Jenkins was honored with the Degree of Fellow from the American Academy of Family Physicians and completed a Faculty Development Fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Her clinical interests encompass lifestyle and obesity medicine, lipidology and cardiovascular disease, telemedicine, leadership development, advocacy, and ophthalmology. Dr. Jenkins is deeply committed to physician education and regularly presents at local, regional, and national conferences on these subjects. She is grateful for the opportunity to impact patient lives on a broader scale through her work in academics.
