Sideline OMT - Hands-On Techniques for Sports Injuries

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1. Describe common musculoskeletal injuries and functional complaints encountered in athletic and sideline settings.
2. Demonstrate osteopathic evaluation techniques appropriate for rapid assessment of sports-related injuries on the sideline.
3. Apply specific OMT techniques (e.g., myofascial release, muscle energy, counterstrain) in a sideline or field environment to address acute or subacute injuries.
4. Assess when and how OMT can be safely integrated into athletic care to improve mobility, reduce pain, and support return-to-play decisions.
5. Engage in experiential learning through peer-to-peer practice and live demonstration, enhancing hands-on skill development in real-time scenarios.

This session is accredited for a maximum of 1.0 AOA Category 1-A credits. Credits commensurate with participation in the session will be awarded.
