Short Description:
Dr. Mercie DiGangi will cover a wide breadth of Adverse Childhood Experiences information. Beginning with the original study, she will discuss what ACEs are, and how they affect children throughout a lifetime. She will then move on to discuss what can be done from a clinician’s perspective regarding screening and intervention. She will then tie in Social Determinants of Health. First going over what SDH and racism are defined as, and then looping in their connection to ACEs and overall child health. The talk will end with a discussion on how Pediatric clinics can adjust and change to incorporate these learnings and better care for patients.
