Erin Cockrell, DO
Erin M. Cockrell, DO grew up in Northeast Ohio and graduated from The Ohio State University with a BS in Biology in 1996. She then attended Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated with a degree in Osteopathic Medicine in 2000. She completed her residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Akron Children’s Hospital, Akron, Ohio followed by a pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at Case Western Reserve University Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. She is board certified in both general pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology. She worked as a pediatric hematologist/oncologist at Akron Children’s Hospital in Akron, Ohio and served as co-director of the Young Women’s Bleeding Center from 2008-2012. In 2013 she moved to Tampa, Florida and is now one of the pediatric hematology/oncology physicians at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. She is also the Director of St. Joseph’s Hospitals Center for Bleeding and Clotting Disorders. She has participated as a primary site investigator in multiple clinical trials for patients with hemophilia and bleeding disorders and has spoken at national and regional bleeding disorder conferences including the National Hemophilia Foundation.
