Jamil Malik DO

Dr. Malik is an interventional cardiologist practicing in San Antonio, Texas. He attended medical school at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland earning his MD in 1995, as a commissioned military officer. His Internal Medicine Internship was done at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado, and he finished his residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. He then spent two years practicing at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, as a staff Internal Medicine physician. He completed his Cardiology Fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Malik then did a sub-fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the University of Minnesota. Following this, he spent 3 years practicing at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. In 2007, he returned to Brooke Army Medical Center as the Assistant Chief and later Chief of Cardiology. During his time in the military, he had deployments to Nicaragua, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He retired from the Army in 2015 and has been in private practice with South Texas Cardiovascular Consultants ever since. His primary interests are in complex PCI, cardiac imaging, and preventative cardiology.
