Julia Jenkins, MD, FAAFP


Julia C. Jenkins, MD, FAAFP received her degree from University of South Florida in Tampa and completed her residency in Family Medicine at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida. Dr. Jenkins is Assistant Director, USF-MPM Family Medicine Residency and Assistant Professor, USF Morsani College of Medicine. Dr. Jenkins has lived in various parts of Florida throughout her lifetime, and she is a proud University of Florida Gator Alumni. After residency, Dr. Jenkins joined BayCare Medical Group in 2008, working as an outpatient family medicine physician at a small office in Palm Harbor, FL. She also worked part-time at various BayCare Urgent Care centers, and she was the Team Doctor for Palm Harbor University High School’s varsity football team for six years. Dr. Jenkins has served on the Board of Directors for the Florida Academy of Family Physicians and has participated in numerous FAFP committees and programs in order to support her family physician colleagues across the state. Teaching was always her primary passion, so in 2016 she left her practice to become a full-time faculty physician at the USF-MPM Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Jenkins clinical interests include nutrition and exercise, cardiovascular disease, telemedicine, sports medicine, POCUS, and ophthalmology. Outside of work, Dr. Jenkins enjoys spending quality time with her twin boys and her husband. She loves running, biking, kayaking, hiking, and watching Gator football.
