Kris Belland


Dr. and Captain, Kris Belland is an Osteopathic physician, Naval Aviator, and nationally recognized leader in aerospace and occupational medicine. Over a 38-year U.S. Navy career, 2,000 flight hours, 125 carrier arrested landings and 25 combat missions, he served as the senior flight surgeon pilot at Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center in Fallon, Nevada, the parent command of TOPGUN. There, he cared for elite aviators, their families, and support teams, and supported the world’s most demanding aviation missions. He has investigated more than 30 aviation mishaps, including 12 ejection seat mishaps, and is a recognized expert in human performance optimization and High-Reliability Organizations. Dr. Belland later applied these principles as an FAA Deputy Regional Flight Surgeon and the Global/Chief Medical Officer for American Airlines. He is also the first Osteopathic physician to serve as President of the Aerospace Medical Association in its first 100 years of existence.
