Roger Chou, MD


Dr. Roger Chou is a Professor in the Depart-

ment of Medicine at Oregon Health & Science Uni-

versity and Director of the Pacific Northwest Evi-

dence

-

based Practice Center.

He has led systematic

reviews and led or participated in development of

guidelines for many groups, including the Agency

for Healthcare Research and Quality, NIH, CDC, the

American College of Physicians, and the Cochrane

Collaboration, and others. He was lead author of

the 2009 American Pain Society/American Academy

Pain Medicine guideline on opioids for chronic pain

and led the systematic review and was a lead au-

thor on the 2016 CDC guideline on opioids for chronic pain.
