Dr. Shawn Williams D.O. is an assistant professor at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine in San Antonio, Texas. He is board certified through the A.O.A. in Family practice. He brings a well-rounded medical expertise in the specialties of Family Practice and Addiction Medicine. He has ten years of experience working with those suffering with substance use disorders. During that time, as the Director of Medical Education at Willingway Hospital he built the Willingway-Mercer A.B.A.M accredited fellowship. For those efforts, he was recognized by the Obama administration and invited to the White House to consult on federal drug policies. During his time as the Medical Director of Willingway Hospital, he served as a member of the Bulloch County opiate task force, working with law enforcement, judges, and health care professionals to help curtail the regional opioid epidemic. He has also made two guest appearances on the A&E television show Intervention. Dr. Williams has a passion for addiction education to assist medical professionals in the treatment and prevention of substance use disorders.
